BEVERLY J. SCHWAAB Obituary
Beverly J. Smith Krekel Schwaab, 87, passed away May 31, 2014. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Please no flowers. Memorial contributions may be given to organization of your choice or John Knox Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11430 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO, 64114. Beverly was born March 20, 1927 in Independence, KS to Deane H. and Charlotte (Keirns) Smith. She attended several universities including Baker, receiving a bachelor degree in history. She received a masters degree in library science from University of Central Missouri. She was a member of numerous organizations including, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Kappa, Cho Chins, NEA and John Knox Kirk Presbyterian Church. She spent a lifetime being a loving mother in addition to her career in education from elementary to college. Many years were dedicated to the CSD-1 Hickman Mills school district. She retired as head librarian at Longview College in 1989. Bev was a most loving, faithful wife and will be greatly missed by Bud. Anyone who's life was touched by this wonderful person was also blessed. She leaves her husband, Bud Schwaab; children, Eric N. Krekel (Peggy) and Bud's children, who she accepted and loved, Kathy Miller (Bob, deceased), Mary Fletcher, Ann Cronkhite, Paul Schwaab (Laurel), Carol Helm (Ron) and John Schwaab (Lynn); 10 granchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Rothove and brother, Boyce Smith. (Arrangements: Park Lawn Funeral Home 816-523-1234)
