1938 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Sept. 23, 1938-June 8, 2014 Linda L. Thornton, Gladstone, passed away June 8, 2014 at NorthCare Hospice, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone. A visitation will precede the service at 9:00 AM, at the Church, with a Rosary at 10:00. Linda was born September 23, 1938 to Ernest and Geneva Belle Staples in Brookfield, MO. She married her high school sweetheart, James Thornton, in 1956 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Linda was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Andrew Church. She worked for Curry Real Estate for 19 years. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Staples, Linda is survived by her loving husband, James, of the home; daughter Angie (Lee) Francisco and son Joe (Michelle) Thornton, all of Kansas City; grandchildren Kassie, Alex, Emily and Hayden, and great- grandson Anderson. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Shaul and brother Jim (Susie) Staples, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
