JOSEPH H. NOAH Obituary
Joseph H. Noah, 99, Overland Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 14, 2014. Graveside services 11:00am Wednesday, June 18 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue, Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or Village Shalom. Joseph was born September 23, 1914 to Israel and Sarah Noah. He grew up in Kansas City graduating from Central High School. After graduation he went into business (Noah Brothers) with his brother Ruben. Joe and his brother operated their store in the Westport area during the Depression years. Joe was inducted into the US Army Air Corps in June 1941. During World War II Joe rose to the rank of Master Sergeant and was stationed at various air fields including Hickam Field in Hawaii. Joe returned to Kansas City after his discharge late in 1945. He and his brother Ruben (Ruby) founded the J R Veteran Company, a wholesale distributor of automotive textiles. He was fully active in this business until his retirement in 2010. Joseph was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and B'nai B'rith. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; sister Reda "Lil" Noah; and brothers: A. Louis (Lou) Noah and Ruben (Ruby) Noah. He is survived by beloved nephews & nieces: Howard and Sharon Noah, Sandra Noah, Bonnie & Roger Kroll, Mark & Janet Noah, Ian Noah, and Stuart Noah; and numerous great nephews & nieces .
