Christine Babich, 61, of Fairbanks, AK, passed away June 30, 2014 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, CO. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at De Soto Baptist Church, 8655 Church Street, De Soto, KS 66018. Visitation will be 10:00 am at the church. Burial at 1:30 pm in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com Christine was born April 28, 1953 in Kansas City, KS to Michael Joseph and Doris Lucille (Muse) Babich. She was a 1972 graduate of De Soto High School. She received her BS in Chemistry from Pittsburg State University in 1979. Christine was a member of the Navy Reserves, retiring after 20 years of service. Christine worked as a chemist for KCP&L in LaCygne, KS for many years. She met her husband Jerry while living in Steamboat Springs, CO, later moving to her final destination with him in Fairbanks, AK. Christine worked in the real estate business, owning properties from the east to the west coast. Education was always very important to Christine and she continued her pursuit of knowledge throughout her life. She also loved to travel. Her travels took her to Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Guam, across our great country, and to the far reaches of Alaska. Christine was preceded in death by her father Michael Babich, husband, Jerry Little, and her brother, Michael Babich, Jr. She is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" Neeland IV of San Diego, CA; mother, Doris Babich of Overland Park, KS; sisters, Elaine Doran, Diane (James) Wilson, Rose Marie Babich and Carol (Chris) Armacost; nephew, Jason Babich. Christine leaves many loving family and friends behind, including her beloved dog Ashley, who traveled with her everywhere. The family would like to thank Patricia Neeland for the many years of support and friendship she shared with Christine.
