Followed by Shiva services at the home, at 8 p.m. Monday evening, and again at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. Arnold was born to Maurice and Beatrice (Taff) Warshawsky on May 15, 1942, in Crystal Falls, Mich. The majority of his boyhood was spent in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Northern Wisconsin where he was raised under the care of his loving grandparents, Percy & Zelphie Taff and grandfather, Jacob Warshawsky from a very early age, due to his father serving overseas during World War II, and his mother becoming ill with tuberculosis. It was there, under their care Arnold learned how precious family was. After his father returned from his military service, Arnold began working in his family's scrap iron business located in Ishpeming, Mich., alongside his father and brothers, Jeff, Alan, and Tony Ross. Upon completion of his education, he started working full time and in less than a year took over management of the company. In 1974, Arnold moved to Kansas City after acquiring American Compressed Steel, Inc. Alongside his brothers, the company grew on to become a leading scrap metal processor within the Midwest with focuses upon the ferrous and non- ferrous metal markets and industrial accounts. The company operated successfully for 34 years until it was acquired in August, 2008 by Advantage Metal Recycling, LLC. Arnie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan (Sands) Warshawsky; his sons, Kurt Warshawsky (Christy); Brady Warshawsky (Jamie Katz); grandchildren, Anthony Copp, Leisa Warshawsky, Jacoby Warshawsky and Weslyn Warshawsky; brothers, Jeff Ross (Gail), Allan Ross (Marylou), Tony Ross (Kathy), and David Warshawsky and step- mother, Florence Warshawsky. Also by his in-laws, Michael and Sherel Sands, brother-in-law, Neal Sands (Jenny), and sister-in-law, Stacy Sands, and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Beatrice Warshawsky, sisters, Marjorie Warshawsky and Annette Marietti. Arnie was a generous, loving husband, father, brother, and friend. His sense of humor, compassion for others, astute business knowledge and true love for everyone who he came in contact with will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the , Hospice House of Kansas City, or a charity of your choosing. Condolences may be shared at www.louismemorialchapel.com.
