Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, with visitation 10 to 11 a.m. and rosary at 9:45 a.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, KCMO. John was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., son of Joseph B. and Aurelia Breting Ryan. John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph B. Ryan II, and infant great grandson. He is survived by his wife, Anna of 50 years; children, John P. Ryan II, Sheri A. Ryan, Lynn C. Roseburrough (Bobby) and Mikel S. Ryan (Teresa); brothers, H. Michael Ryan (Camille), Terry Ryan (Amy); 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a proud member of Pipefitters Local #533, serving for 59 years. His work ethic and pride for the trade inspired not only his apprentices but also his family who followed in his footsteps. Outside of his work, his faith and family were his top priorities. John was a devout Catholic who was an active member of the St. Sabina community. John was always willing to open up his heart and home to anyone that needed it. The family would like to give a personal thanks to the Catholic community Hospice team and our angel from Sisters Service of Mary, Ministers to the Sick. Their efforts and compassion made John's final days comfortable and helped the family gain closure. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sister Servants of Mary, Ministers to the Sick Convent, 800 N. 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102. Arr.: Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Mo., (816) 322-5278.
