MARY LOGIUDICE Obituary
Mary LoGiudice passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at New Mark Care Center, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary will be reunited with Tony, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 2009. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Friday, August 8, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, Kansas City, MO 64117. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mary was born March 3, 1930, in Camporeale, Sicily, to Francesco and Calogera (Battaglia) Maenza. She and her husband Tony immigrated to the United States along with their three children in 1962. Mary was a long time member of St. Gabriel's Parish and a member of the Camporealese Society where she and Tony had been actively involved for over 40 years. She enjoyed singing, dancing and cooking, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Besides her husband of 59 years, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lena Locascio and Frances Maenza; three infant children; and an infant grandson. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses, Gina and Jasper Solano, Lydia and Mark Scavuzzo, Lena and David Hogan, Josephine LoGiudice, and Sal Anthony LoGiudice; six grandchildren, Salvatore Solano, Pamela (Joe) Nitti, Mary Jo (Mike) Merola, Danielle Scavuzzo, Salvatore Scavuzzo, Laura (Eddie) Carrillo; 10 great-grandchildren, Tony, Spano, Frankie, Morena, Valentina, Pamela, Vincent, Nicholas, Ranen, and Hadley. She also leaves her sister, Josephine Calandra; and many other relatives. The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice, and a special thank you to the caring hearts of Unit 1 at New Mark Care Center who loved and cared for Mom like family.
