1925 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Sally Oppenheimer passed away on Monday evening August 4, 2014. Born in Beverly Hills, CA, in 1925, she spent most of her life in Kansas City and Raytown, MO. Sally was formerly married to General HL Oppenheimer. A devout Democrat, she once served as Ward Boss of the Harry Truman's 24th district. A lover of all animals especially bulldogs, Sally donated to non- profits supporting animal's rights and services. She loved her English gardens at Oak Hill Farm. She served on the board of Nature Conservancy. A lover of nature, Sally traveled the world down the Amazon River, to the Serengeti, and went on bird watching tours in Alaska above the Arctic Circle. She was passionate about bird watching, involved with the Audubon Society and was a nature photographer. She was passionate about life, but on her terms. Sally is survived by her four sons: Tony, Reed, Hal and Eric and their spouses. She left 13 grandchildren and four great children.
