ROBERT J. OTTESEN Obituary
Robert J. Ottesen, 83, passed away on August 11, 2014 at The Sweet Life of Shawnee. Bob was born August 24, 1930 in Chicago, to Theodore and Julia Pacyga Ottesen. He attended Allendale School for Boys in Lake Villa, IL, Chicago Vocational High School and Glenbard High School in Glen Ellyn, IL, graduating in 1948. He attended college at North Central College in Naperville, IL. Bob played minor league baseball for several teams including the Pittsburgh Browns of KS and settled in Kansas City in the 1950's. Bob worked in the insurance industry, then created his own businesses, Research Procurement in the 1970's and RJO Biologicals in the 1980's. He became a member of the Royal Lancers in 1985 and was an avid fan and supporter of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He loved his family and his many friends in the Royals organization and at the Lake of the Ozarks. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Jean H. Myers Ottesen and brother, Ted Ottesen. He is survived by daughter Stephanie Koch (Ron), Overland Park, sons Steve Ottesen (Colette), San Bernadino, CA, Grant Ottesen (Karen), Shawnee and Robert Ottesen (Jonni), Overland Park; eleven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren A private family memorial will be held.
