ARLON O. EBRIGHT Jr. Obituary
Arlon (Butch) Otis Ebright, Jr., 74, Parkville, Mo., died August 14, 2014, surrounded by his family. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the North Cross United Methodist Church. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to North Cross UMC. Arlon was born Aug. 2, 1940, to Rev. Arlon Otis and Gladys Pearl Ebright in Great Bend, Kan. He graduated from Hutchison, Kan., High School and Junior College. Arlon's career included the U.S. Navy Reserves where he spent two years of active duty. He worked as a dental technician and then spent 21 years as a pilot for Sprint. The love of his life was his family and friends. Arlon loved to travel, play golf and work outside. He was an active member and officer of Kiwanis, NKC. Arlon was a member of North Cross UMC, active in its Inquirers Class, Bible Study and served as a Communion Steward. Arlon was also preceded in death by his wife's parents, Captain Edmond and Eloise Frazier; and his son, David Ebright. Survivors include wife of 54 years, La Donna Ebright; daughter, Heather (Jon) VanPelt and grandchildren, Hanna, Jillian and Jack, Groton, Mass.; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Ebright and grandchildren, Dakota and Hunter, Kansas City; sister, Marcia (Charles) Clements and Dorothy (John) Gilbert of Crawfordville, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Ron (Marge) Frazier, Climax Springs, Mo.
