KAREN L. COBURN STEWART Obituary
Karen Louise Stewart, 58, of Kansas City, died Monday, August 18, 2014, at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on March 14, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas, a daughter of Clay Eugene and Nancy Ann (Ludlow) Coburn, Sr. She was raised in Kansas City and attended Southwest High School, graduating in 1974. Soon after graduation, she was married to Allen Mitchell Titus and this union was blessed with the gift of two sons: Bryan and Stephen. On August 6, 1983, in Kansas City, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Stewart. Karen attended South Side Christian Center in Kansas City. She had worked as the office manager at Victorian Roofing Company in Kansas City from 1982 -1991, in sales at London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, from 1993 - 1995, and Dillard's in Kansas City from 1996- 1998. She enjoyed spending time with her family and Kenny. She is survived by: her husband, Kenny Stewart of the home; her father, Clay Coburn, Sr. of Sun City Center, FL; two sons, Bryan Titus and his wife Tina of Alexandria, Virginia, and Stephen Titus and his wife Sarah of Leawood, Kansas; three step-daughters, Victoria Joe of Kansas City, Christina Stewart of Kansas City, and Elizabeth Selders of Olathe, Kansas; her sister, Carol Ann Coburn-Collins and her husband Jim of Bay City, Michigan; her brother, Clay Coburn, Jr. and his wife Esther of Prairie Village, Kansas; four grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Allie, and Rose Titus, all of Leawood, Kansas; three nieces, Katie, Claire, and Kathryn; three nephews, Clay III, James, and Charlie; her uncle, Donald Coburn of Overland Park, Kansas; and her cousin, Dana Cook of Mission, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Coburn, and her sister, Sandra Kay Coburn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014, at McGilley Funeral Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City. Committal services will held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Cole Camp Cemetery, rural Cole Camp. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Kansas City Hospice House in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
