1928 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Was born in Kansas City, Kansas September 2, 1928, where he lived until 1973. After school he joined the Army and served his country during the Korean War. Upon returning he started working at Phillips Petroleum Company where he retired after 30 years of service. In 1973 he married the love of his life Margaret Manners, where they spent the next 30 years together in North Kansas City. After her death in 2001, Leonard stayed in NKC, and is remembered with great fondness for his charming conversations and goodwill to his community. He was a long time member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Leonard passed away peacefully in his sleep early Christmas day. He leaves behind two nieces, Kristen and Bridget Campbell and cousins. He will be forever remembered for his witty sense of humor, snappy dress style, his ease at making everyone feel comfortable and cared for. We so loved you Uncle Leonard, we will carry you in our hearts always. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM Monday December 30, 2013 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church 6415 NE Antioch Rd. Gladstone, MO 64119 with burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 10-11:30 AM at the church.
