Obituary Condolences

Marion Jean Hanson, 87, of Prairie Village, Kan., passed away December 14, 2013, at Brighton Gardens. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village, 7015 Mission Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at St. Ann Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, with a reception following at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the at www.alz.org, and the KU Alzheimer's Disease Center at www.kualzheimer.org Mrs. Hanson was born Marion Jean Law on March 12, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to Marion James ("M.J.") and Edmina (nee Kraemer) Law. She graduated from Von Steuben High School and Northwestern University. Later in life, she earned a Master's Degree in Music Education at North Texas State University. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, David E. Stringer, her brother, Kenneth "Bud" Law, and her second husband, James R. Hanson. Among her survivors are son, David J. Stringer and wife Rozanne McGrew Stringer, son, James A. Stringer, and her cherished niece, Margaret "Peggy" Ann (nee Law) Huffman. Assistance by Funeral Advocates.
