Obituary Condolences

Shirley E. Steinberg, 88, of Overland Park, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Mo., with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the . Shirley was born in Atchison, Kan., and lived there until she was 16 years old when the family moved to Kansas City, Mo. She then lived in the Kansas City area the rest of her life. Shirley attended Kansas City Business College and then went to work for the government in the War Assets Administration for four years. In 1961 she married the love of her life, Harold Steinberg. They were married for 53 happy years. She turned her passion for traveling into her vocation, working in the travel industry for 25 years, nine of those at Accent on Travel, an agency she and Harold owned together. Her greatest love was for her family. In addition to Harold, she is survived by her daughter Tammy Zwick and her husband Arvin Zwick, who she considered her son, and her granddaughter Heather Zwick, who was recently engaged to Andrew Pohlman. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Donald Kopin. The family wishes to thank hospice nurses Gail, Anna, Joan, Bobbie and her home care provider Rebecca, for their wonderful care and kindness.
