I know this is late but I would like to give my condolences to his family and friends, for both the lost of Reat and his grandfather. Like Reat I am also a Boy Scout, an Eagle Scout. Boy Scouts of America lost a great member that day, a fellow brother.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. Your eloquence and composure have been so moving and although we did not know your son or father, we know what gifts they were.

Reat,
I never heard of you before last Sunday but I feeI like I know you. I am a cellist in the Church of the Resurrection Orchestra and attended the interfaith service for you your grandfather and Terry Lomano.
I am Jewish and as we all put our arms around each other and sang "Ose Shalom" I cried for the 3 of you. I also saw your funeral on television and again was moved to tears. My deep condolences go out to your family and Terry's family.

Reat,
You were always the star of the show; now you are with the stars. We will miss you so much, but I know that you are hunting, singing, and writing all you want up there. We love you- all of us.

Mindy, as you and your family move forward this beautiful pain as I prefer to address it will be a part of you. Beautiful from the depth of love you have for Reat--pain from the absence of his presence. But blessings abundant his life was...and "to live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." May our Lord guide and comfort you and yours...Kelly McCauley Howard

I remember laughing with Reat while looking at camping photos on a cell phone as we sat together at a wedding reception dinner in 2013. I'll always remember that laugh. He looked so handsome and grown up in that suit. He was a great kid. I wish I could send you some books in Heaven, Reat. Love from the mountains...

My daughter was in Reat's 6th grade class at BV Middle and then she transferred to Aubry Bend. After not being in school with Reat for 2 years, she met up with him again through debate. I remember her telling me that they had spoken when I picked her up and she told me how sweet he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May your friends, family, and God continue to give you comfort and strength. God bless.

I worked with Bill at the office. He talked about Reat and his theater and singing talent frequently and pictures of his grandkids on the poster board by his desk. They are watching you from Heaven.

Dear Mindy,
I was the Executive Director of Camellot Academy when Reat first started to attend. I can still see him very clearly- front row, stage right, the littlest Knight, in a beautiful costume you made him. What a precious and precocious child he was. So cheerful and full of life, talent and joy. No mother should ever have to do what you are being asked to do. To bury one's own child must be the most difficult task in the world. I am so so sorry you are being called upon to do that. As we Jews say, May his name be a blessing. I will always remember Reat and the inner light that shone from him.
I hope you will find comfort in your best memories of him and know how many people his young life touched.
My Very Best Wishes to you,
Gina Bikales
