Carter C. Lewis, 86 passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at his Residence in Platte City, MO. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday October 23, 2014 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests contributions be given to: Three Rivers Hospice. Carter was born December 12, 1927 in Des Arc, MO. to Jerome and Zilla (Seal) Lewis. He was raised in Des Arc, MO until he moved to Platte County, where he has resided since 1944. Carter married Wilma Jean Trimble on April 3, 1957 in Linden, MO. Carter served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a parts manager for TWA for 28 years and retired from TWA in 1984. He was a member of I.A.M. Union #1650, he was of the Christian faith and a member of the Hoover Christian Church. Carter loved gardening, reading the newspaper and loved home cooked meal. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Wilma, daughter Nancy Farley, Brothers; Buford Lewis and Russell Lewis, His Sisters; Inez Knight, Avis Jones, Alta Lindquist, Wana Lovelace. Cater is survived by: his sons Michael Lewis(Judy) of Warsaw, MO, David Lewis (Emma) of Platte City, MO, brother Howard Lewis (Verna) of Van Buren, MO, and a sister, Vela Nichols of St. Louis MO, Seven grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren.
