Ernie was a dear friend of my husband, Don Klein. The were in same frat at Baker University. Don cherished his friendship. He was always a positive person. He will be missed by so many.

My love to his family. Sorry I couldn't make the Memorial Service Sunday. I was thinking about you however.

Rush Limbaugh on his September 19th show gave a beautiful eulogy of Ernie so I looked him up and was impressed: he sounds like my kind of American. We have all met other men and women like Ernie: they are the salt of the Earth.

Rush spoke about how he liked to go over to his house and just hang with the man.

Rush said he attended the funeral who speaks as much about Ernie as it does Rush.

Say what you want about Rush, that he attended this man's funeral and spoke so eloquently about what a great man he was tells us being who he is -- the Number One talk radio host in our nation -- has not gone to his head.

Obviously I never knew Ernie but I am grateful to Rush for sharing his appreciation for what sounds like a great American.

God Bless and my condolences to his family & friends.

Best:

Just heard Rush talk about Ernie. Sounds like an awesome man/life. The people that influence us along the way always stay in our hearts. God Bless!

I am listening to Rush talk about Ernie now, and now the whole county knows how great Ernie is... not was...is.... Take solace in knowing the country just learned about him.

To the Mai family:

It has been an honor to have known Ernie and to have lived on the same street with Ernie and the family for 44 years. Nicer people are unknown. The many Ernie stories will sustain us for the rest of time. Nina and children, you will find strength in your faith, family and friends. I'm sure Janet is already guiding a tour for Ernie. Best wishes, Dick

Ernie, you opened many doors for me in Kansas City just because we had the same last name and we were relatives. You also turned out to be a wonderful friend. I'm grateful that you chose to join us during our recent family reunion. I'll miss you greatly, but I have many "Ernie Mai" stories that will make me smile each time that I think of them or when someone else who adored you shares their special Ernie Mai story. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

I remember Ernie from working with him at Gear. He was a delightful ray of sunshine every time I saw him. He always greeted you with a smile, and always took time just to visit a bit. I am very saddened, and sorry to hear of his passing. He was such a dear sweet man. God bless you Ernie. My thoughts are with your family.

RIP, Ernie. Your friendship and lame sense of humor as well as driveway conversations will be truly missed. As you promised you met your goal of being a "Piano", sharing the number 88.

God rest your soul, Ernie....enjoyed working with you at Line-Mai construction company. Also, you were a fun neighbor to have around! Peace be with you.
