To all of you who poured out your kind, heartfelt thoughts and memories of our son, we thank you. Louie lives in all our hearts now. I spend the day talking to him as I go through the endless cards and letters you all have written. I feel a peace surrounding me from the beautiful funeral Mass and the Vigil. I just wish every family could experience what we have since his death. Oh what a send off and tribute it was. Our lives are forever changed but we keep on going because we know that God's plan for him was greater than ours. Now go and...LIVELIKELOU what a great thought this Christmas season. I am only today finding this news out. I am so sincerely sorry for the loss of your brother, son, uncle, nephew, grandson......
I met Louis at your salon, Katie, and he was, of course,helping you out with some ceiling tiles, I think, with a jolly spirit about him.

To the Scherzer and long Family,
I can't image how difficult this time might be. Louie was my best friend, my brother. He was taken from us too young, he was such a great person and he always looked out for everyone. Louie made everything whole, when there was hole to be filled. He was always there, now we have a guardian angle that will look out for us. He will continue to be even greater from beyond.
I love you Louie, rest in peace until we meet again. You will be missed very much, rest in peace my brother.

Although I wasn't lucky enough to know Louie personally, I've learned a lot about him the last few days. It's easy to understand why he was so deeply and universally loved. What a great guy!

My only encounter with Louis was at Chicago's in October 2015. My family went there after my sister (Susie Montgomery) passed away. Louis knew my nephew Joel, and bought all of us a round! I went to thank this generous young man (there were several family members) and realized that I grew up with his dad! Harry was my neighbor from grade school, and he was also a caring, awesome young man. Louis' kindness just shone through! My heart and prayers go out to Harry and Louis' family and friends.
