ROBERT ABER Obituary

ROBERT KENNETH ABER Life-long Kansas City resident, Robert Kenneth Aber, 98, passed away on January 7, 2018 at Bishop Spencer Place. Born on July 19, 1919, he graduated from Yale University and the Harvard Business School. He served as an Army officer during World War II and the Korean conflict. He chaired a successful, city-wide campaign to secure passage of Kansas City's Public Accommodations Ordinance in 1964. An active member of the First Baptist Church throughout his life, he was a docent at the Nelson-Atkins Museum, a member of the Kansas City Rose Society, and a board member of the Central Baptist Theological Seminary. He joins in death his wife, Sarajane Sandusky Aber. He is survived by three sons, three grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the First Baptist Church of Kansas City, or the Kansas City Rose Society are welcome. A memorial celebration will be held at the First Baptist Church on the corner of Wornall Rd. and Red Bridge Rd. in Kansas City at noon on Saturday, January 13.
