Alfred C. "Red" LeFeber

Alfred C. "Red" LeFeber, 93, formerly of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Hudson, Ohio. He was born on Nov. 6, 1919, in Barberton, Ohio, the son of Alfred and Charlsey Isbell Miller LeFeber.

Red was married for nearly 56 years to Janet S. LeFeber, who passed away in 1999. Both worked in their later years in Geneva. Red was a bailiff in the Kane County Courthouse and Janet worked for the Merra Lee Shops. Both were graduates of The Ohio State University; Red with his doctoral degree in law, Janet with a degree in social administration. He went on to serve his country as a captain in the Army Air Corp and was a navigator in a B-26 during World War II. Red worked for Wall Street firms for more than 40 years as an investment banker before retiring.

Red was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee Spears); daughter, Susan B. LeFeber; son, John C. LeFeber; and grandson, Thomas J. Sauer III. He is survived by his daughters, Joan L. Sauer of Hudson, Ohio, and Jane S. LeFeber of Paulding, Ohio; granddaughters, Jane (Roberto) Vaccaro of Newbury Park, Calif., and Katherine B. Sauer of Hudson, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Caroline S. Vaccaro and Thomas C. Vaccaro, both of Newbury Park, Calif.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio, with full military honors.
