Robert L. Katsuleas

GENEVA – Robert L. Katsuleas, 82, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Chicago, the youngest of seven children of the late Sam and Stella (Stefeneas) Katsuleas.

Robert was a graduate of the University of Illinois and proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked many years as an accountant for General Mills in West Chicago. He was also a member of the Geneva American Legion and enjoyed biking and playing tennis. Robert was a kind, gentle man and truly an amazing individual who touched the lives of many. He treated everyone with respect and led by example. He was and always will be adored by his grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his three children, Estelle (Robert) Markham of Naperville, Angela (Larry) Lasky of North Aurora and Andrew (Heather) Katsuleas of North Aurora; six grandchildren, Drew, Justin, Samantha, Jason, Lauren and Amanda.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 55 years, Joann.

The visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, with a memorial service and a time of sharing at 7:30 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38) Geneva, with Father Peter Spiro Pastor of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church Aurora officiating.

Burial will be private at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora on Thursday.
