Francis Xavier Davis, 96, died peacefully on April 30, 2013.|
The son of Mary (Heaphy) and James Davis, Frank was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 22, 1917, and was the brother of James Edward, Elizabeth (Comerford), Mary Virginia, William and Charles Davis, all of whom preceded him in death.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and afterward settled in Ohio, where he worked for the East Ohio Gas Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1983.
He was deeply devoted to his wife, Dorothy (Yonto), who died in 1983, and dedicated to his children, Mary Elizabeth and James Edward, and to their spouses, Richard Gordon and Charity (Nelson).
He adored his grandchildren, James, Emily, Richard, Joseph and Michael Davis. Friend to many and widely beloved, he will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton, Ohio, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. Family will meet friends in the church hall beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
