ST. CHARLES – Alexander G. Brandell, 101, passed away May 10, 2011, at Hillside Rehabilitation & Care Center, Yorkville.

He was born May 8, 1910, in Genoa.

He was a longtime resident of St. Charles and a lifelong member of The Loyal Order of Moose, St. Charles.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Robert Clark; three grandchildren, Vickie Clark, Kelly (Richard) Watson and John (Linda) Clark; five great-grandchildren, Alicia Ferraris, Jessica Ferraris, Melissa Ferraris, Sarah Clark, and Johnny Clark; a niece, Patricia Kohn; and a nephew, John Brandell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Brandell; his parents, Gustave and Hannah Brandell; one sister, Bertha (Charles) Brown; and a brother, Roy Brandell.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at River Hills Memorial Park (Route 25), Batavia.

We will certainly miss Alex. He was such a kind and gentle man. We will miss his stories and all of the fun we all had together. We are certain he is enjoying a special cocktail in Heaven with his wife.
