Diane Menees, 72, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Kishwaukee Hospital.

Born October 4, 1945, in St. Charles, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Deportere) Vanthournout, Diane married Billy J. Menees on February 20, 1965, in St. Charles. Diane was a graduate of St. Charles High School Class of 1963. She was Administrative Assistant at the Methodist Campus Ministry at Northern Illinois University. She also served at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau after which she served as Executive Secretary at Elder Care Services in DeKalb. Diane was a Girl Scout leader, PTA president, Religious Education teacher at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, and Co-President of DHS Music Boosters.

Diane's family was the love of her life. She and her husband Bill loved spending time together, along with her daughters and their families. They were the stars in her galaxy.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Lori (Paul), Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Linda, St. Charles; four amazing grandchildren, Nick and Hannah, Mukwonago, Davis and Evan, St. Charles; and her three brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine Street, DeKalb, with Fr. Dean Russell officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
