Eleanor Slater, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Geneva Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Geneva. She was born on May 29, 1922, in Benld, the daughter of Louis and Mary (nee Mroczek) Wyskocil. |
Eleanor met Paul Slater at their church while they were 12 years old and married on Sept. 8, 1945, in Chicago. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Wasco for over 60 years. Eleanor was very active with St. Charles youth activities, including voice and instrumental accompaniment, bowling, and managed several successful Little League teams.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Paul; her sons, James Slater of Maple Park and Richard (Rochelle) Slater of Cooks Town, N.J.; her grandchildren, Amy Slater, Heather Slater, Christian Slater, Shannon Slater and Drew Slater; and a great-grandson, Landon.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Interment will be private. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
