GENEVA – Geraldine A. McMaster, 91, of Batavia, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Joliet, the daughter of William and Anna (Carbery) Riley.
Geraldine was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an artist and loved writing poetry, reading and spending time with her family. Geraldine also enjoyed her time at the Elderday Center in Batavia.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Castle and Diana (Michael) Cummins Zak, both of Batavia; grandchildren, Jack Cummins, Gregory (Kim) Cummins, Jennifer (Tony) White, William (Sarah) Castle, Diana (Wallace) Kruce, Hillary (James) Kennedy, Leigh (Jeff) Dalmann and Charles Castle; great-grandchildren, Riley, Sean, Lindsey, Peter, Christopher, Henry, Mary, Samuel, Madelyn, James, Andrew, Noah, Anna and Helen; sister, Dolores Schaller of Northbrook; brother, William (Jean) Riley of Orland Park; sister-in-law, Jane Riley of Arlington Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Riley.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 W. Main St., Batavia, the Rev. Timothy Draper, celebrant.
Visitation will precede the Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva.
