BATAVIA – Howard C. Dietz, 91, of Batavia, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle. He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Chicago, the son of George and Harriet (nee Grodowski) Dietz. He was united in marriage to Darlene Bennet on Oct. 28, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in the Vail in Iowa.
Howard was a member of the Kane County Car Club, Thunderbird Club International and the Chicago Thunderbird Club. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 until 1946.
He is survived by three sons, Robert (Linda) Dietz of Elburn, Thomas H. Dietz of St. Charles, Todd (Yvonne) Dietz of Oswego; three grandchildren Nicole (Scott) Kramer, Amanda (Chad) Render, Sean (Fiancée Stephanie Jones) Dietz; great-grandchildren Chase (Ashlee), Madison, Logan Kramer; and the families beloved dogs Sophie, Fiona, and Chloe.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Darlene and a brother Leroy Dietz.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. Batavia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Moss Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
