She was born on November 18, 1944 in Morris, IL the daughter of Thomas and Edith Tesdal Roswold. Jane was a warrior, 13-year cancer fighter that never complained and fought a valiant battle to be a shining light to her friends and family. She loved spending time with her many, many friends including the trivia group, work friends and the breakfast ladies. She adored her granddaughters and went to every sports and school event she could. Jane attended old Elgin High School and Northern Illinois University and married Gary Gilmore on June 11, 1966. She became a secretary in the day of short hand, skirt suits and IBM electric typewriters. Jane was lucky enough to work as a toy-manufacturing representative from home while raising children. The Xerox machine and typewriter stand replaced the dining room table while she juggled work and kids in the 1970s and 80s. She later worked as a purchasing agent for a local electrical contractor and then went to work in the guidance office of St. Charles East High School for 17 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband and amazing caregiver, Gary Gilmore. Her daughter, Kim Gilmore, and son-in-law, Jeff Bero and their children, Evangeline and Ainslee. Jeffrey Gilmore and his daughter, Alyssa and Jason Gilmore. Her siblings, Marian Schaible, Robert (Barbara) Roswold, Paul (Karen) Roswold, and Wesley Roswold. Her brothers and sister's in law, John (Louise) Gilmore, Donna Kane, Steve (Leslie) Gilmore, Gail (Drew) Frasz, Lori (Bill) Poczekaj, and Scott (Jennifer) Gilmore.
