WINFIELD – Jeoffrey Layne Close, 57, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at home. He was born on Nov. 28, 1954, in Aurora, the son of Deloris (Gerkin) and the late Edgar F. Close.|
After receiving his degree from Iowa State University, Jeof worked at the Board of Trade in Chicago. While living in Chicago, he played rugby for the Chicago Lions. Later in life, he founded Cymryc Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Riddle) of Winfield; mother, Deloris of Geneva; sister, Jill Close of Batavia; dog, Dylan; and an uncle, numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his father, Jeof was preceded in death by two uncles.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the many co-workers, friends and neighbors for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Be the Match Donor Organization.
