Margaret "Marty" Compton Richardson passed away July 6, 2018 at the age of 98.

She was born in Wilmington, Ohio on May 17, 1920, to R Levi Compton and Evalina Bliss Compton. She married John "Jack" F. Richardson in 1944. They settled in Geneva, Illinois where she raised their 3 children. She was a wife of 63 years, mother and avid musician, playing piano and performing on, and teaching, cello. She loved to read, especially mysteries, and was proud to be a Daughter of the American Colonists, with lineage to 1632 in New England.

She moved to Ann Arbor at the age of 94 to be near family.

She is survived by sons, Bruce (Sally) and Rex (Jan); 5 grandchildren, Brian and Derek Richardson, Stephanie Heath, Leslie (Jake) Dalton and Erika Klosterhoff (Anna Eaglin); in addition to 5 great grandchildren. Marty is also survived by son-in-law, Bruce (Pat) Klosterhoff; a special niece, Olivia (Vince) Wall; and many other nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband; daughter, Ruth Lynn Klosterhoff; brother, Ell Dee Compton; and sister-in-law, Rowena Compton, a friend for 93 years.

Graveside service for family will be held July 28 in Geneva, Illinois.
