Margaret Erickson (nee Leslie), age 96, passed away December 27, in Geneva after a brief illness.

She was born Margaret Jean Leslie to James and Ida Leslie on September 20, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota where she majored in Home Economics Education. This carried through in her love of home making, decorating, and cooking. While at the University of Minnesota she met her future husband, Richard Erickson. After the war she again moved as her husband, a long time Kraft employee, was transferred to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana. In 1968 they moved to Batavia where they lived for forty years. She was active in the Congregational Church of Batavia, the Batavia Women's Club, Geneva Garden Club and the Delnor Hospital Auxiliary. In 2006 they moved to the Reserve of Geneva where Margaret continued to be active and made many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 70 years, Richard (Dick) Erickson.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hansford (Charles) of Scottsdale, Arizona; granddaughters, Leslie Buehler, Sara Hidy (David), Carolyn Waltos (Robert) all of California; and nine great grandchildren, John, Allyson, Addison, Camille, Celia, Robert, Andrew, Samantha and Brooklyn; as well as a nephew, Eric Dornfeld; and niece, Jane Zenk.

The family is planning a memorial service for the spring.

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Garden of the Batavia Congregational Church in remembrance of Margaret and her love of flowers.
