Died: Feb. 7, 2014

Mildred Maxine Crusing, 84, formerly of St. Charles, passed away Feb. 7, 2014, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. Hundreds of preschool children knew her as "Miss Maxine" at the Merry-Go-Round Nursery School, where she taught for many years. She was a member of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church. Maxine and her husband, Bob, retired to Hot Springs, Ark., in 1982. She worked as a pari-mutuels teller at Oaklawn Race Track for 20 years and enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

Maxine was predeceased by her parents, James Leon Siler and Pauline Siler Smith; husband, Robert Crusing, Sr.; sister, Patsy Prince and son, Brian Crusing.

She is survived by her son, Robert Crusing, Jr. (Linda) of Beach Park; daughters: Donna Owens, of Forsyth, Mo.; Jacqueline Ramirez of Hot Springs, Ark.; and Janet Gaytan of St. Charles; sister, Elizabeth Stanton of Tinley Park; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Per her wishes, Maxine was cremated and a memorial service will be held this summer. Contributions in her memory can be made to Preferred Hospice of Missouri or the .
