Nancy Powers (nee Zimola), age 66, of Geneva, Illinois, passed away May 5, 2018 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.

Nancy Z. Powers was born August 29, 1951 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Youngest of six, Nancy received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Barat College and Master Degrees in Education and Education Administration. Working for 35 years as a teacher at Western Avenue School, she was beloved by students and faculty alike.

Married to Craig Merrill Powers for 45 years, the couple hosted weekly Sunday dinners for family and friends. Their house was a home for everybody from relatives to new acquaintances. Nancy's cooking was legendary, and no one left her house hungry. Blessed with an infectious smile, her greeting at the front door immediately made one feel welcome. A longtime resident of Geneva, Nancy loved her community and took pride in sharing it with others.
