Sarah Lee Salesky

Born: April 6, 1938; in New Albany, MS

Died: October 28, 2018; in North Aurora, IL

Sarah Lee Salesky, 80, of North Aurora, died peacefully on October 28, 2018 at her home. She was born April 6, 1938 in New Albany, MS, the daughter of the late Earl and Ruby Matkin.

Sarah moved to Aurora with her family as a teenager. Several years later she met her future husband, Donald Salesky. The young couple started their family in West Aurora. Sarah raised a family and ran a successful beauty salon for 15 years. After her husband's retirement from General Motors, the empty nesters moved to Garland, TX. In Garland, they started and ran a small business for 18 years. When her husband's health began to fail, Sarah and Don returned to the Aurora area to be close to family. Throughout her life, when Sarah wasn't working, she loved gardening, interior decorating and floral arranging.

Sarah is survived by her sons, Gary (Maureen) Salesky, of St. Charles, IL and Robert (Kevin) Salesky, of Phoenix, AZ; her daughters, Mary Kay (Peter) Hill, of Pine Hill, NJ, and Linda Scheel, of Summerfields, FL; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald Salesky; her son, Daniel Salesky; her mother, Ruby Kimmons; her father, Earl Matkin; granddaughter, Courtney Salesky; as well as a son in law, Robert Scheel.

A visitation took place from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Interment was at Lincoln Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sids Alliance of Illinois, a charity dear to Sarah's heart.
