GENEVA – Virginia L. "Ginny" Johnson, age 77, of Geneva passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva.
She was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Cecil and Virginia (Wahl) Schanz.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jimmy; three children, Steven (Gail) Johnson of St. Charles, Brian (Petra) Johnson of Florida and Cathy (Dan) Kudrna of Kansas; Jimmy's children, Linda Macior of Missouri, Jeffrey (Cristelle) Johnson of Colorado and Anne Fairbairn of Lombard; and also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Jack (Ginny) Riley of Georgia and sister Geri (Stan) Schuham of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Schanz, and her first husband, Bernard "Bud" Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the funeral home, with Pastor Clifford Frederick officiating.
Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
