Although I didn't know Gene, I was also a 1962 graduate, I send my heartfelt thoughts to you. Believe me, I know what you must be feeling after my husband, for more than 40 years passed away five years ago. Stay strong.

We were devastated to learn of Gene's passing. A kinder, gentler, nicer man just didn't exist. He and Kay were Judy just beginning to experience a life a leisure together. We are so sad that journey was cut so short. Gene was the pride of the St Edward Class of 1962, and a terrific human being. He will be greatly missed. Kay, you are in our prayers!

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time; my mother Nancy (Wauchope) Hardy worked on the Kane County Board for many years and Gene was a good friend and ally; my husband and I were fortunate enough to have him officiate at our wedding in 1999. He was truly a very kind and gracious man and he will be deeply missed
