BLOOMINGDALE – Emma A. Sullivano, 96, a resident of Bloomingdale, formerly of St. Charles, Glen Ellyn, Calumet Park and Chicago (Roseland) passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Alden Valley Ridge Healthcare in Bloomingdale.
Emma was born May 13, 1917, in Chicago to Maria and Damaso Cimarolli. She graduated from St. Louis Academy High School in 1935.
On Oct. 24, 1940, she married Fredrick A. Sullivano. Their marriage was blessed with one child, a son, Fred Alan Sullivano.
Emma worked both within and outside of her home. Aside from caring for her family she was employed by the Home Store and St Peter's Church. She retired in 1983. Emma had many friends over her life time. Whether family or friend, she took great joy in making everyone she knew happy.
She is survived by her son, Fred (Marilyn), her granddaughter, Lynette (David) Nieman, her grandson Brian (Sarah) Sullivano, six great grandchildren, Abigail, Audrey, Joshua, Nathaniel, Nolan and Thomas and members of her extend family, the Mennericks and Jancauskases
Preceding Emma in death were her parents, and her siblings, Martin, Rose and Lucy and her daughter-in-law, Carol A. Sullivano.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 East Main Street (Route 64), St. Charles. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, (corner of Route 64 and Route 25), St. Charles.
