NORTH AURORA – Dean A. Dunn, 82, of North Aurora passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at his home. He was born in Eldora, Iowa, on Dec. 17, 1929, the son of Thomas and Marie (nee Clary) Dunn. He was united in marriage to Dolores Jungels on Oct. 7, 1950, in Aurora.

Dean and his family moved from Iowa in 1943. He was a 1948 graduate of Marmion Academy and continued his education at St. Procopius College. He was an active member of his community, a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in North Aurora, member of the North Aurora Lions Club and a 50 year member of the Batavia Moose Lodge. Dean had many accomplishments through the Lions Club receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow Award and the Illinois Lion Foundation Fellow Award. He was also a member of the Illinois Holstein Association and the Tri County Holstein Association. Dean was employed in the dairy industry his entire life, and during the last 24 years of his career he worked for Harding and Harding-American Livestock Insurance until his retirement in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Dunn; three sons, Daniel (Kathy) Dunn of Huntersville, N.C., David (Patti) Dunn of Woodstock, Ga.; and Devin Dunn of St. Charles; a daughter, Diana Dunn of Fogelsville, Pa., seven grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Jennifer and Andrew Dunn and AnDrea (Aaron) James, Devin (Susan) Dunn and Austin Dunn; three great-grandchildren Isaiah and Adela James and Amelia Dunn.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a step-father, William Worland and a daughter, Deborah Ann Dunn.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak St., North Aurora, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora.
