Doris Castenson Obituary
MAPLE PARK – Doris Castenson, of Maple Park, died peacefully in her home Saturday, March 23, 2013, with family by her side.
Born Sept. 20, 1926, in Shelby County, Doris was the daughter of Herschel and Nellie (Funderburk) Williams. On March 1, 1941, she married the love of her life, Donald Glen Castenson, and proudly just celebrated their 67 years together.

Doris's life was devoted to her husband and her family, who will forever cherish memories of her love and her smile. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader and supporter in all their endeavors. They always will remember her as a great storyteller and giver of love and treats. Known to her great-grandchildren as "Grandma McDonald," she loved to watch them build with Legos on her living room floor. Doris was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, loved to travel with her husband and have coffee with her friends. She especially treasured Saturday morning breakfasts with her siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; her two daughters, Christi Castenson of Sycamore and Donna (Mike) Sauber of Virgil; grandchildren, Katherine (John) Duraski, Addie (Dustin) Storm, Michael Paul Sauber (Allison Schramer, fiancée) and Drew Castenson; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Ethan Storm and Jack and Harlee Duraski; siblings, Lorna Knuuttila (Don Davidson), Jess (Helen) Williams, and Dallas (Donna) Williams. She also was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Nellie Williams.

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd. Quiram Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Salem Lutheran Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, with the Rev. Rob Kinnear officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetary, DeKalb.
