Helen A. Lewett Koch, age 94, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.

She was born on November 18, 1923 in Cambridge, IA the daughter of Emil and Randa (Bauge) Olson. Helen was united in marriage on February 26, 1951 to Howard O. Koch, D.V.M., and they spent the next 58 happy years together until his passing on April 27, 2009. Mrs. Koch was a longtime member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church in Oswego and a member of its Naomi Ruth Circle. She was formerly employed, for over 17 years, in the Purchasing Office at Iowa State College in Ames, IA. Helen was involved in many community activities including the Kendall County Republican Woman's Club, the Kendall County Historical Society, and the Kendall County Fair Board. She and her husband were, since 1965, charter members of the Kendall County Horse Association. Mrs. Koch was, for over 15 years, a Kendall County 4H Leader as well as a member the Kennel Club of Yorkville, IL. She was also a member of the Story Country Historical Society in Iowa. Helen was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Lea Ann Koch of Oswego, IL and her son, Brian Howard (Trisha) Koch of Ft. Myers, FL; her sister-in-law, Doris Olson of Ames, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Randa Olson; her husband, Howard Koch; her brothers, Wallace Bauge Oslon, who was killed in action during WWII, and Ronald Dean Olson; and her sister, Ramona Poulsen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen's name may be directed to the Kendall County Fair Association, P.O. Box 149, Yorkville, IL 60560 or the Kendall County Horse Association., 148 Riverside Dr., Yorkville, IL 60560.
