Lucille B. Michel, age 96, of Aurora, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL.

She was born on June 24, 1922 in Sublette, IL the daughter of Henry and Leona (Fischer) Henkel. Lucille was united in marriage on May 3, 1944 to Donald J. Michel and spent the next 52 happy years together until his passing on July 10, 1996. Lucille loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and was always ready for a game of Kings Corner or a word search puzzle. Lucille was a former school bus aid for the Head Start program for West Aurora.

She is survived by her children, Donald C. (Teri Cox) Michel of Yorkville, IL, Donna (Jeffrey) Dring of Yorkville, IL, and Karen (Peter) Heinicke of Elburn, IL; her grandchildren, David Dring, Shauna (Keith) Gardner, Brian (Mallory McFee) Michel, Tammy Dring, Jeremiah (Fianc , Gloria VanderMeyden) Heinicke, and Abigail Heinicke; her great-grandchildren, T.J., Addisyn, Drew and Teaghan Gardner; also one sister and two brothers, many, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Michel; her parents, Henry and Leona Henkel; her three sisters, and one brother.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL with Father Gabriel Cillo M.I.C. officiating. Interment will take place at approximately 1:30 pm in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mendota, IL. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to either the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Illinois Chapter, 2200 East Devon Ave., Suite 392, Des Plaines, IL 60018 or the Fox Valley Park District Friendly Center Club, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, IL 60506.
