Solis, Jesse - Kenosha  
Jesse Solis 1997 - 2016 Jesse Solis, 18, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee. Jesse was born on Nov. 28, 1997, in Kenosha to David A. and Eva Solis. He was educated in the local schools and was a proud graduate of Bradford High School. Jesse loved to spend time with his extended family. His aunts, uncles and cousins enjoyed Jesse's sweet, kind nature and they will miss him dearly. Jesse and his mom had a special relationship and she was a good and loving presence for him. Jesse was a huge fan of the video game Grand Theft Auto and through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he got the chance to visit Rockstar Games' headquarters in New York where the game was created. Lazlow and the team at Rockstar took great care of Jesse and provided him with a once in a lifetime adventure. Jesse had a blast touring New York and the Rockstar Games team grew to think of Jesse as one of their own. Surviving Jesse are his mother Eva and his siblings Elizabeth, David and Ivan all of Kenosha. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Maria and Socoro Solis and by many other relatives who will always keep Jesse in a special place in their hearts. Jesse was preceded in death by his father, his brother David and by his paternal grandparents Amalia and Melecio Solis. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church (7117-14th ave.) Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital who treated Jesse with such love and compassion and to Lazlow and the team at Rockstar Games for making Jesse's dreams come true. Statema, Jeffrey "Jeff" - Kenosha  
Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Statema 1957 - 2016 Jeffrey "Jeff" A. Statema, 59, of Somers, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at his residence, after a brief and aggressive battle with cancer, he was surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born in Kenosha on May 27, 1957, the son of the late John "Jack" Statema and Nell Stroobosscher Ralph. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Tremper High in 1975. On July 15, 1978, he married Christina Tolan at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Jeff was employed as a part time mechanic with Cicchini Asphalt and also employed as a full time mechanic with the City of Kenosha Water Utilities Div. He was a member of the Bass Turds Fishing Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and spending time at his cabin in Adams Friendship. Surviving Jeff are his wife Chris; two daughters, Stacy Sheeder/Statema of Racine, Michelle "Shelly" (Jose Ochoa) Statema of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Alyse and Emily, and another granddaughter due in August; mother Nell Ralph of Kenosha; one brother Brian (Beth) Statema of Mississippi; and one sister Debbie Olbrys/Statema of Kenosha. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his father John; and one brother Scott Statema. A visitation will be held at the Proko Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his grandchildren's college fund.
