Barbara S. Giles
1954 - 2014
Barbara S. Giles, 59, of Kenosha, died surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center, Milwaukee.
Born in Wausau, Wis., on Oct. 18, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Eleanor M. (Heuss) Krack, Sr. She attended Mary D. Bradford High School.
On Aug. 20, 1988, at the Kenosha Eagles Club, she was united in marriage to Brian E. Giles.
For over 15 years, Barbara was employed at St. Josephs Home as a Dietary Aide.
She will be remembered as being very thoughtful and caring. Barbaras family meant the world to her and when her mother-in-law became ill, she took care of her and they made an every lasting bond together.
She always kept her door open to anyone who needed a warm place to stay and a bite to eat.
Her favorite holiday was the Fourth of July. She was crazy about butterflies and liked to play bingo. Barbara loved to fish, watch the show Monk, Me TV and especially Western movies. She was an avid Packer and Brett Favre fan. She enjoyed spending time outdoors riding as a passenger on motorcycles, and watching her tomatoes, lilacs and tulips grow. Above all, she absolutely adored her grandson, Jamison.
Barbara will be remembered by her husband, Brian E. Giles; her two children, John Garcia and Scott (Amanda Hansen) Ward, both of Kenosha; and her grandson, Jamison.
She is further survived by her ten siblings, Walter (Linda) Krack of Brownsville, Tex., Charles (Patricia) Krack, Linda (Albert) Gonzales, Scheryl (James) Heckel, John (Gloria) Krack, Kristine (Clifford) Thomas and Karla (Paul Hermann) Krack, all of Kenosha; David (Dawn) Krack of Catawba, Wis., Nancy Harnish of Muncie, Ind., and Loretta (John) Studey of Sturtevant; her sister-in-law, Wanda Best of Merrill, Wis.; her lifelong friend, Robin Pollock; many loving nieces and nephews; and her pets, Jessie, Yote, Sheba and Rosie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Sue Garcia; her brother, Jessie Best; her father-in-law, Dennis E. Giles; and her mother-in-law, Barbara J. Peterson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 6 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. A visitation for Barbara will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.
Barbaras family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of Aurora Medical Centers for the special care they provided.
Barbaras family was honored to be able to fulfill her wishes as an organ donor.
