1923 - 2013

Bernice A. Kirkpatrick, 89, of Kenosha, died on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at United Hospital System St. Catherines Campus.

Born on Nov. 26, 1923, in Degraff, Minn., she was the daughter of the late George and Mae Halpin. As an infant, she moved to Kenosha with her family.

On Jan. 11, 1947, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Harold Ray Kirkpatrick. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1995.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Bernice enjoyed playing bingo and looked forward to spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Thomas R. Kirkpatrick of Lakeland, Fla., Sandra A. Melesky of Bristol, and Debbie L. (Edward) Desotell of Racine; two sisters, Florence Roden and Irene (John) Shawler, both of Kenosha; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Allan Kirkpatrick; a brother, Joseph Halpin; two sisters, Eleanor Gregory and Loretta Helmington; and a son-in-law, John J. Melesky, Jr.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Bernices life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Bristol Oaks Country Club, Hwy. 50, Bristol. A gathering of relatives and friends will immediately follow until 8 p.m. at the Bristol Oaks Country Club.
