Bradley D. Harring, 59, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home.
Bradley was born in Kenosha, Wis., Sept. 11, 1953, son of the late Dean H. and Erma L. (Nee: Jackson) Harring.
Brad had an extensive professional life. His formative years were spent in management at Western Digital in computer and technical sales. His joint passion for photography with his late wife, Julie Bratley, led them to Racine where they opened, Avenue Gallery & Frame in 1999 later moving to its current home on Main Street in 2005. Additionally, he donated art, time and talent to Pleasant Prairie Hospice House, Racine Art Guild, Racine Zoological Zoo Debut Event Committee, and to Downtown Racine Corporation as a past board member. Brad is known, respected and admired throughout Racine for his generosity, leadership, love of the arts, and commitment to the vitality of downtown local businesses. He truly integrated art into life.
Then he met his adored wife, Anne Meredith, and on Dec. 31, 2007 they were united in marriage and shared a glorious ten year relationship.
With a jovial, warm personality and zest for life, Brad was an avid reader, traveler, independent political junkie and phenomenal story teller. He loved being surrounded by family and friends celebrating and savoring all of lifes great moments. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Anne; his son, Nicholas (Zoe) Harring of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; his stepdaughter, Alison (Art) Ray of Virginia Beach, Va.; his two stepgrandchildren, Andrew Luczak, Michael Brydges; brothers, Dale (Betty) Harring of Rutherfordton, NC, James Harring of San Francisco, Calif., Karl Harring of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sister, Wendy (Dean) Hanson of Wallace, Mich.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas (Suzanne) Meredith of Racine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lynn Bratley (Chuck Dickinson) of Watertown, Mass., Barbara (George) Pech of Northglenn, Colo., Catharine (Steve) Tesch of Oshkosh, Tom (Connie) Meredith II, Michelle Meredith (James) Schell, Duke Meredith Brads twin, Susan Meredith (Michael) Bestul, James Meredith, Joseph (Miriam) Meredith, all of Racine; his Goddaughter, Mia Meredith; numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and cherished friends. In addition to his parents and his late wife, Julie (Nee: Bratley) he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Camile Luczak; late mother-in-law, Barbara Meredith; brothers-in-law, Ross Bratley and Michael Meredith; and nephew, Joshua Probst.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013, 11 a.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. 6th Street with Rev. Mark Doidge officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to Holy Communion Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare All Saints Foundation, Racine United Art Fund, or to the Racine Zoological Society have been suggested.
