Charles E. Chuck Fleming, 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee with his family at his side.

Born in Clinton Township, Ind., on Jan. 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mabel (Bowmar) Bishop. Upon the death of his mother Mabel (Bowmar) Bishop, he was raised by an aunt and uncle, Anne and David Fleming in Chicago. He spent most of his life working in the Chicago area. He and his wife raised their three sons in South Holland, Ill. They moved to Kenosha shortly after his retirement. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

On Dec. 15, 1951, he married June Benzinger in Chicago, Ill.

Chuck worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel until his retirement in 1992. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs Fan and enjoyed taking his sons fishing and planting flowers. He was always doing projects around the house.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, June Fleming of Kenosha; three sons, Lawrence (Sheila) of Danville, Calif, Thomas (Sheila) of Urbandale, Iowa, and Robert (Celeste) Fleming of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and six grandchildren, Danielle, Ted, Allison, Kyle, Christina and Gianna.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19, at Proko Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Interment will be private at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
