Frances J. Fran Kretschmer
1938 - 2014
Frances J. Fran Kretschmer, 76, of Kenosha, went to meet her Savior on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Brookside Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kenosha on March 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Veronica A. (Rondeau) DeCamp. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha until she moved to West Bend in 1999. After her husbands death in 2002, Fran moved back to Kenosha.
On Jan. 25, 1957, in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Fred M. Kretschmer. After 45 years of marriage, sadly, Fred preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2002.
Fran was employed as a day care worker at Christian Life School at First Assembly of God Church retiring in 1993 due to ill health. She was also a receptionist for Dr. A.M. Rauch in Kenosha for many years.
She was very strong in her faith. Fran was a member of the former First Assembly of God Church in Kenosha where she faithfully served as a greeter. Fran was a member of the First Assembly of Gods Womens Bible Study Group and their Young at Heart Group. While living in West Bend, she was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church and was a former member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Fran helped to initiate a new resident greeting program in her wing at Brookside. She was also a member of the Brookside Residential Council.
She is survived by her five children, Mark (Jeanne) Kretschmer of Kenosha, Gregg (Maria) Kretschmer of Agawam, Mass., Beth Kretschmer of Racine, Lisa (William) Lefkoski of West Bend, Wis., and Joel Kretschmer of Milwaukee, Wis.; her four grandchildren, Kyle (Valery) Kretschmer and Christal, Trinity and Isaiah Lefkoski; and her brother, Paul A. (Teri) DeCamp of Kenosha.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in infancy; and a brother in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Frances will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Brookside Care Center Endowment Fund, 3506 Washington Rd., Kenosha, WI 53144, or Hospice Alliance, Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at United Hospital System-Kenosha Memorial Hospital 7th Floor; especially Nicole, and the staffs of Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance, Inc. for the special care they provided to Fran.
