Frank M. Carbone
1927 - 2014
Frank M. Carbone, 87, of Kenosha, was reborn on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at Manor Care.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1927, to the late Frank and Rose (Gallo) Carbone in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
On Nov. 14, 1953, he married Joanne Elizabeth Winters at St. Casimirs Catholic Church.
Frank worked at Simmons Company for 10 years then he worked for Wonder Bread as a salesman for 33 years, retiring with honors in October of 1988. He was a union steward for Wonder Bread for two years. (They were always in the dough then well bred!)
After retiring, he and his wife traveled around the country and visited family, friends and wonderful places.
Frank started bowling at the age of 15 and continued well into his senior years, and was inducted into the Kenosha Bowling Hall of Fame. He was also an outstanding checker player.
Frank and his wife volunteered at St. Pauls nutrition site, where he dished out and served food while entertaining people with his singing. He was a member of the RSVP Chorus, a member of the Senior Center and the Kenosha Senior Chorus.
Frank was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joanne E.; his son Michael (Lori) Carbone of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Nicole, Alyssa, Justin and Sierra and his sister, Jean Carbone of Kenosha. He is also survived by his in-laws Joy Lowth, Walter (Kay) Winters, John (Sue) Winters and Jaclyn (Bill) Thomas.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and his sister-in-laws June (Modory) Carbone, Jeanne Baril, Jeanette Potthast.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church (2224 30th Ave.) Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday (TODAY) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home and again on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Peters Catholic Church. Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. A.J. Capelli, his PA, Mark Peterson, Hospice Alliance and to Manor Care for the compassionate care given to Frank.
