John M. Teddick
1942 - 2014
John M. Teddick, 71, of Brighton, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa.
Born in Winsted, Conn., on Nov. 18, 1942, he was the son of John and Shirley (nee Beeman) Teddick. He spent his early life in Connecticut where he graduated from high school. Following school he enlisted in the Air Force for four years where he served his country from 1961 to 1965.
On Oct. 17, 1964, in DuBois, Pa., he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Novitsky. Following marriage they lived in Alexandria, Va., Torrington, Conn., and Greendale, Wis., before moving to Brighton in 1975.
John was a Manufacturing Manager for General Motors
, retiring after 23 years working in the automobile industry. He also worked for Grove Gear as Plant Manager for 10 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; loved fishing, especially in Canada where he attained the title of Master Angler. He especially looked forward to fall for his two favorite seasons, Packer Season and Deer Season. He enjoyed doing handyman projects and working around the house. John loved to Polka and he and Carol were former members of Lords & Ladies Dance Club. His family was very important to him, he videotaped everything, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Maria (Jeff) Zizzo and Susan (Gordon) Graves; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jordan, Nathanial, Hannah, Autumn, Jeffry (Stacey), Jacob, Joshua and Jessica and great grandchildren, Jax and James. He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel (Jan) Teddick, Michael (Deb) Teddick and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at 5 p.m at St. Francis Xavier Church with Rev. Russ Arnett officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Friday, Aug. 8, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Burial at St. Francis Cemetery will follow the Mass.
The family would like to thank Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice and staff, and Froedtert Hospital staff and Dr. James Bury for the care and compassion they gave to John.
