Karen B. Berg
1941 - 2018
Karen B. Berg (nee Martorano) found peace on July 9, 2018, at the age of 77. Karen was born on April 6, 1941, to Joseph and Ruth Martorano in Milwaukee. She was married to Richard Berg on April 20, 1963. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years and was the loving and devoted mother of John (Gwen Spangler) Berg and Heather (the late David) Mogensen. Sister to Leo (Maryl) Martorano and Richard (Karen) Martorano. Special cousin to Marlene Kulakowski and Jim (Nancy) Brzezinski. Godmother to Kim Weisflog, Jennifer Hribar, Tracey Consigny, and Stephanie Hanney.
Karen studied cosmetology and graduated from beauty school in 1960. She went to work at Irenes Beauty Salon and Ryczek Larsen Bros. Funeral Home in Cudahy, Wis., as well as working at the Arbor Inn in Mich. Karen spent her summers on beautiful Shawano Lake staying at the family cottage. Karen was an excellent seamstress, talented with crafts and quilting, and was an amazing cook and baker. She was kind, loving, and generous.
Karen will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other family, and countless friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth, her in laws, Evoy and Myrtle, sister-in-law, Susan Oseland, cousin, Joseph Kulakowski, and son-in-law, David.
Visitation Friday July 13, 2018 at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 3774 E. Underwood Ave. from 5 p.m. until time of Service at 7 p.m. Private Interment.
Special thanks to Right at Home, especially to her caretaker, Barb Reed, for the care given to Karen.
